Some make mentions of changes to the wildlife, with wolves coming close to the town even when they had never done so before. One or two mention problems on the Mainland, with increasing difficulty of reaching out to loved ones who don’t live in the Northern Territories, or deliveries being unable to arrive. The growing trend is that something odd and terrible has been happening, although no one can truly explain what, and the problems have been growing increasingly worse and worse up to the final entries. You might note that the actual years and dates might not line up with your own: the current year given in these entries is 2014.

They would reveal that there has been a very noticeable drop in property values as of late, indicating that while Milton has been in a slow decline for decades — there's been some particular decline over the past 12 to 18 months. Post and food/commercial deliveries have been sporadic for a long time. The actual crisis itself: with the townsfolk dying or absconding Milton, happened no more than a couple of weeks before the Interlopers began arriving — it's hard to completely tell due to plenty of the bodies being preserved by the cold.
